Doesn't seem to be the slightest bit interested in either one.

She's my DC3 so can't quite remember all the key developmental stages but seem to recall the other two at least having a few words by now?
She's cruising on stuff but has zero inclination to stand alone or walk anywhere. She is just about saying 'mama' [wishful emoticon] but nothing else, babbles in something sounding like a cross between Mandarin and Klingon most of the time!

Not particularly worried but then wondered should I be?!

Would not be too worried, wld only see gp if no walking and pointing by eighteen months or no words at two.

Cool, thanks Chaos. She's pointing at stuff and loves stacking blocks, lego, pouring tea for her dollies with her tea set so I know she's understanding what's going on around her. Have a feeling the diagnosis would be "stubborn little bugger" if I took her to the GP! Grin

Mine has fluent Mandarin too Grin she's 15 months and hasn't long been walking. Talking seems a long way off still though she understands well. My nephew was practically mute til 3years - can't shut him up now! I'm sure your DD wil do it all when she's ready.

girliefriend · 10/02/2011 20:17

is her hearing okay? I didn't worry about my dd late speech for ages but then when she was 2 she was diagnosed with severe glue ear which explained quite a lot!!!

I have two friends, both of whom have 3 dc and the youngest are both about the same age as your dd. Neither of the littlies seem to be very interested in walking or talking. They can both stand and take a couple of steps, and one of them babbles a little, but they clearly understand what's going on and neither mother seems overly concerned.
