How long does wee dribble (!) and poo marks in pants go on for?

Sorry TMI!
Ds 3 always seems to be a little damp at some point in the day and just when I think we have poos in the toilet sorted, we revert back to poo accidents :(

Never happened with dd. Once she was clean and dry, she was clean and dry. Obviously the odd accident but no marks, dribbles or leaks.

Is he ever constipated?

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 09/02/2011 20:48

He does get constipated from time to time but is terrible at asking to go, will go when asked to and occasionally asks to go. At home is much less of a problem but out and about is another story. Grrrrr!

My DS is exactly the same. He's 3.9 yrs and we still have damp pants and skidders if we're out when he needs a poo. He's determined to leave it till the last minute. He's so absorbed in what ever he's doing, that going to the toilet is put off and put off. He went into pants on his third birthday and it really did take him about 7 months to make some real strides towards being independent with his toilet habbits.
Hang in there, he will improve.
Also I've found that its ok to get cross or be stern about poo accidents. When they've been in pants long enough its not acceptable to keep pooing pants.
My DS starts school in September (eek!) and really hope our poo issue is ressolved by then.

Thanks bums! Yes the looming school (18 months away) worries me! Is he in pull ups at night? Our DS is no where near dry at night.

Strangely he was dry at night from the beginning. Though from what friends have told me this is rather unusual.
Don't worry about school. 18mths is light years away. Smile
