I have 2 sons, they are 6 and 4. All I seem to here is talk of willys and bums atm.

'Smell my willy'
'look at my bum'
'I can kick your pants...'

Is this normal/ok, do I show that I am hearing it, I am so fed up of telling them that it is silly and inappropritae. Shall I ignore or is there some other magic tip someone has to deal with it?!

it never bothered me to be honest - i might have even joined in!

Pretty normal round our way. Doesn't really bother me. I imagine I'll getting far more stressed about more offensive language soon enough!

It doesn't bother me per say, I can enjoy a good bum or willy joke but it is ALL THE TIME, they cannot seem to talk without replacing a normal world for willy/bum/pants/poo

As i type DS2 is saying 'argh I smaked my willy' when he actually bumped his head. Hmm

My 2 are like this. I tell DS1 if he doesn't put his willy away I will get a pair of scissors and chop it off...

I usually ignore it but it is annoying...

DD went through this phase, she's out the other side now and has told me that nobody except me is ever allowed to look at her banjo.

When it has really annoyed me I have banned the words for a while. If any behaviour really annoys me it goes onto the banned list for a while. Then I use star charts etc. to get it to stop.

But it does have to get pretty annoying for me to bother (eg. Bum 100 times a day).

I got bored with it and said they could only refer to their bodies if they used the correct terms.

Bottom and penis don't appear to be as fun to say :o

My 4yo ds and his friends are terrible when they get together. I have come up with plan for next time one comes to play. Start off with pack of smarties. For every banned word I hear- I'll eat a smartie. They get what's left at end of playdate. I know you can't give your two a pack of smarties every night but maybe some variation on this theme might work to break the habit.
