I read a book the other day like a one you get from the Midwives, said at 18 months you're child should be talking 6-20 words ,

I had an 'AAAAAAAAAGh' moment
my DC has said dadda, mama since 6 months old , he communicates he looks at you as if you're expected to understand a lot of mannerisms etc, but its still baby language , he says 'atchoo' yea''gammar'' (gramndma) etc

Am I being ridiculous?? or any tips on bringing more speech on ?

There was another thread on this earlier on today here.

Basically seems likely he is fine :)

So he is 16 months and says 5 words (mamma, dada, gramma, yea and atchoo)? Sounds right on track for 6 to 20 words by 18 months :)

Don't forget any sound he uses consistantly to mean something eg "oo" for "shoes" is still a word :)

I'd forgotten about noise thing, he makes an 'aa' sound when pointing could mean 'that
