my lovley little boy is 3 and ive just read the 3year old devolopement chart and my son is no where near as forward as it says he should be, he cant have conversations he,s never asked a question he,s only just started calling me mummy it was nothing before that his days are sometimes 15 16 17 18 hours long this can go on for weeks, he dos,nt even acknowledge other children and takes 6months to even notice them. he has a bit of a temper too and brakes toys sometimes. when we go out he can,t walk alone he will run away so its the pram or the hand reign with he hates and hurts his hand he has screaming fits in shops aswell. i cant let him play in his room or he will go straight to the window which he dos,nt see as dangeruos. he would go out of it. he won,t share with other children. he is bright though although he dos,nt comunicate much he does take it all in. i am worried as nursery approches he wont be able to sit still and take instruction, or will try to escape. has anyone else had these kinds of issues? i would love to hear from you i am a single parent of 2 with no family support im 38 though so im fairly mature.

I think you might be able to get reassurance from a health visitor. All children develop differently, but it may be worth chatting to someone.

Possibly he's getting frustrated that he can't communicate, but maybe speach therapy could help - I gather this is more common in boys. A friend of mine had to do mouth exercises to get ds talking properly then they realised he actually needed an op. He's much better now and has come on leaps and bounds.

Good luck x
