DS is 6 and generally a lovely kid, bright and imaginative. He's always had a few imaginary friends, but the current one (a baby called Noisy) is a pain.
DS was very tiresome yesterday, kept making unreasonable demands and then when he didn't get his own way would pinch me or hit out at me, so I yelled at him and made him leave the room till he could calm down.
Later when he was fine again I asked him what was wrong and he said 'I was being Noisy and having the tantrum for him.'
Has anyone else had this sort of thing?

No, but as you say he's obviously a bright lad Smile.

I'd just deal with any misbehaviour in the normal way, like time out. IMHO shouting never works. Just be consistent.

Your DS sounds like a lovely, lively boy Smile

This book is very good too.

Ha, ha, my grandmother did this in the late 1800s!- it's one of our family stories. And if you read A.A. Milne's poems, there is an imaginary friend called Binker who is there to take the flak for whatever Christopher Robin does.

Nothing new under the sun, eh?
