My 6 month old is refusing bedtime feed

Hello I have a new problem that I need advice with:

DS has started refusing his bedtime bottle. This has been going on for a while but it is now getting worse. I always used to be able to finally get about 5oz down him but tonight he stopped at 2oz and it took us 20 mins to get him to take anymore. He is fine in himself and is showing no signs of illness or teething and is eating his solids. We've tried giving him his bottle before his bath and in different places but nothing works.

Has anyone encountered this before and do you have any suggestions?

Thank you

To be honest I think it sounds like he's full already! My dd does this too (15 months now)and Ive learned that she knows what she's doing. When she refuses it, she doesnt seem to get up any earlier. It may just be that the solids are filling him up a bit now. You could try giving him his solids half an hour earlier, so he's a bit hungrier at bedtime. Or if he's still lively at bedtime, you could delay bedtime for half an hour or so and give him the bottle then.
I have daily battles with food and every evening I resolve that i MUST listen to what she wants and trust that she'll let me know if she's hungry.
They are so fickle at this age too...by the time youve got some responses on here, he's probably changed his habits again!
Hope this helps.

Thanks abenstille,

Its so hard knowing what to do sometimes. I started giving him his tea earlier but it made no difference. I could make it even earlier I guess but is 4:30 too early?

He'd refused his late afternoon bottle too which is why I knew I had to get something in him.

You're probably right, he'll hvae grown out of this phase by the end of the week!

You could try offering it in a cup - maybe he doesn't like the bottle?
