3.5 year old traumatised by jabs - won't bath?!

Son had booster jabs in both arms over week ago. He had a bad reaction feverish etc, arms very tender for a few days - now better.
Due to the pain in his arms taking off clothes was painful & is now terrified of getting dressed/bathing to the point of total hysterics, actually shaking with fear & screaming. Will not let me remove plasters put on by the nurse when I do manage to get top off him- by basically gritting my teeth & putting him trough it. Managed to wash his bottom half, but that's all. Do I let him carry on this way? Anyone had similar probs? (Got jumper wet at pre-school they changed it, no trouble, didn't mind?!). Feel awful.

Ah you see he's learned that mummy reacts - whereas preschool doesn't. There is a lesson in that for you :)

Seriously, shirts - easier to get off with sore arms than t shirts. You can always bathe him with his top on - he'll be more willing to take it off if it's wet and cold!

Also next time DRUG HIM FIRST - I suggest neurofen for children. And buy some bubbles to blow in the bath - few kids can resist catching blown bubbles - but they do have to be in the bath to do it. :)
