Boys and killing, kung fu kicks, I'm gonna kill you etc.......

My ds is 3.5. All day every day he wants to dress up as superman/bat man/buzz lightyear and hates it when he has to wear normal clothes. All he talks about is killing, shooting and deading things, when friends are around to play it's all king fu kicks with sound effects.

He does not sit still ever. He has an answer for everything, and this morning when I refused to get him more juice, he replied ' If you don't get me my juice now I'm going to have to kill you' followed by hs cheeky grin.

Gosh boys are exhausting. Every where we go people comment on how active he is and how I must be busy.

Not at all worried about him, he is a delight. But please say thay other boys are like this too.

I do get embarrased when DS1 calls people names, 'poopoohead' is his favourite. It's probably best to ignore them. He is indiscriminate when it comes to name calling though. Anyone who walks to him is fair game.

He's just turned 5. I think it's going to get worse before it gets better.

talks even

I apologise to everyone in RL if my son has ever called them Poopoohead. It can also be a term on endearment you know.

BaronessJewelsofToochester · 04/10/2005 14:58

can you say 'poofs' on this board?

northerner · 04/10/2005 15:03

Baa Baa black poo is sung in our house.

Oh yes, poo poo head is a great one in our house at the moment, when I asked him where he had heard it he blamed his little friend.

When I expressed disbelief, he assured that "Tom" had said it to him and even told me how "Tom taught him how to say it phonetically. So at least some of his schooling his going in.

mumofthreebeauties · 04/10/2005 19:32

Yes, I get it a lot and have also banned jetix for the moment.

See my other thread - the school have heard him say it 5 times and are calling for a SENCo to get involved.

Hope he grows out of it quick.

Hope the school is over reacting and there's nothing wrong.

foxinsocks · 04/10/2005 19:40

Jetix is horrendous - basically non-stop fighting/killing/kung-fu!

Ds (turns 4 in November) is completely into sport and not into any of this play fighting/killing lark. In fact, he comes back from school and is completely disappointed that all the boys want to play Power Rangers in the playground and none of them will kick a football about with him.

foxinsocks · 04/10/2005 19:41

but he does love talking about poos, farts, bums

DS2 wants to be the pink power ranger and likes palying with Barbies, but him and DS1 are always chopping bits of each other off with whatever's to hand and he loves tae kwon do. I think he's a nice mix tbh

I hate jetix too, it's sooo boring, but I have to say I love the stories in power rangers dino thunder and actually sit and watch them with them

Katemum · 04/10/2005 19:59

OMG SS can't believe you just admitted to that, I do too

spookyserenity · 04/10/2005 20:06

I like Dr Oliver

Katemum · 04/10/2005 20:08

Yep, Trent is quite nice too.

LadyCodofCodford · 04/10/2005 22:30

so foxy yours and mine are hte same - do yout hinkt he two are mutually exclusive?
ds2 is bereaved byt he lack of balls at playtime

mymama · 05/10/2005 01:44

my ds1 is 4.5 and exactly the same. ds2 is 2 and well on his way. That said, they are also both loving little boys who love mummy's cuddles when tired or sick and pick me flowers from the garden. I partly blame dh for the rough and tumble because he plays rough with them all of the time. dh still laughs hysterically with tears running down his face at a movie that contains farting, diarrohea, snot or anything similar . Not much of a role model really

roisin · 05/10/2005 01:59

DS2 does this (kung fu kicks and threats to kill), but ds1 has mostly grown out of it now - phew! (He's 8)

DS2 watches Blue Peter and Newsround on the TV and that's it, so I can't blame the telly! He does watch the odd film/video/DVD, but no cartoons like Power Rangers or whatever.

nightowl · 05/10/2005 02:19

its very annoying when my son comes out of karate lessons and starts practicing with his friend..."please, wait until you have changed out of your white suit first!!!!" grass stains in karate suits are not good. how dare he try and do karate whilst wearing the suit!

triceratops · 05/10/2005 05:52

ds only kills baddies.........but anyone can be declared a baddie at any time. He has to kill them to rescue the little girls according to him. He is four next month.

LadyCodofCodford · 05/10/2005 07:17

asked ds1 ( 7) abotu this
he looked at me blankly?
"say i'll kill you?"

fifilala · 05/10/2005 08:04

we are also having the same problem with DS - always calling poopoohead or pompomhead???? Having recently banned Jetix as DS was always kicking and saying I'm going to kick your face in. We had a calm or relatively calm two weeks - let him have it on on monday as he had been really well behaved over the weekend and the process has started again (he even kicked me whilst on the phone last night). Guess it is my fauly really......................

MiaouTheFamiliar · 05/10/2005 08:28

oh God help me... [roll eyes emoticon] - I've only had to deal with dds so far and have never had this! Even though they play pirates (just stomp about shouting "ahoy me maties!") and army (far more interested in the camouflage than the killing), haven't had to deal with any fighting, play or otherwise. Ds is 9 weeks now ... argh I hope he doesn't do this, I shan't have the patience for it!

foxinsocks · 05/10/2005 09:31

yes cod, ds was absolutely mortified by the lack of balls at playtime. He's just started the nursery class at the school his sister is at and they have their own little playground but they have plastic type balls rather than 'real' footballs (so he informs me in great detail). In fact, today, I toyed with the idea of letting him take his cricket set in but decided against it as I don't think any of the other boys would play with him anyway!

I've told him when he starts reception (next Sept) there are bound to be sporty boys as they have a 3 class intake (so surely there will be some amongst the 90 children!).

I do think they are mutually exclusive - none of his truly sport mad mates seem to be into power rangers or the like.

LadyCodofCodford · 05/10/2005 10:42

yes but foxy ds2 is at school and only juniors ca n play footie!!! poor boys

ok i have to admit that ds3(2 and a half) has been watchign too much spongebob as when dh teased him saying he had "girlpants"(th e ULTIMATE insult chez fish) he replies

"in your face daddy"

ahem
good hting we were in france at t he itme
