Buggyboards - what age to try them

Ds is 19 1/2 months and wants to walk everywhere bu does the usual toddler thing of going the opposite direction you want him to go in or wanting a carry (difficult as I have a 5 week old in a sling) but throwing a fit if you try and get him in the buggy. Is he too little for a buggy board? I wondered if that might help if dd was in the buggy and he rode on the back. Thanks....

I used a buggy board for DS from about 18 months. I had to use the reins aswell though as he had a terrible habit of jumping off!

He was also quite tall for his age which made him the right size to see over the buggy (with a hood)

Even if you buy it now and it turns out not to be suitable, you can always put it away for a few months time. Or you could try one of those seats 2 go so he can sit down if he is tired.

What is a seat to go?

kath4kids · 03/10/2005 22:02

seat to go is a buggy board with two levels so they can stand on it or sit on the higher level facing you with their feet on the lower level. I bought one a few weeks ago and my dd aged 2.8 yrs refuses to get on it, she also refuses to walk so iguess it will be the double buggy for us for a while longer. ds 18 months also refuses to use it so cant even swap them but he is the right height and he's only a short 18months so yours should be fine.

Hope that ramble helps

Em32 I've tried mine on it again today and they not interested i've had one major screaming fit with both of them.

Do you want to buy mine, only had it a few weeks. CAT me if your interested. Still got all the fittings, box, instructions.

by the way i bought mine off ebay - new if you wnat to buy a new one or most pushchair suppliers online do them too

Thanks, think I'm going to leave it a while though as ds has been particularly strong willed the past couple of days - have decided it is probably best to keep him in a buggy for a while (while I'm still strong enough to get him in there at least!)
