Oh my lord! DS2 in tears over 'leeches' comment

DS2's newest best school is a little boy from Lithuania. Speaks English very well but a bit idiosyncratically Hmm. Yesterday DS managed to spill this child's drink at lunchtime. Child got very cross apparently and told DS that when he got home he should tip a glass of water full of leeches over his head. I lauged at first then realised it had really upset DS. DS is at home now because he's been sick but he didn't want to go in before he was ill.

I don't know why such an absurd comment has upset him so much. DS won't say anymore but I think there is more to it. Apparently this boy was still angry with DS at home time.

What do I do? Anything or just leave it?

DH had a chat to him tonight. It was clearly more than one comment. But I think we'll play it by ear.

I had a leech attached to my arm once (I was doubling for an actress who wasn't keen). It was quite cool actually. They tingle at first. You get them from a leech farm in Wales. Clearly the new boy has free range leeches. How old are the boys?

Sorry for your DS though - I hate not being sure what's wrong and needing to help. I might nick the new boy's threat though. Out of context it's a pretty good.

Yes as a 'threat' is is definitely off the wall. Which is why I wondered if it was a mistranslation of a well-known Lithuanian saying Grin
