what are the best ones? when have you felt really pround and perhaps had a tear pricking your eyes? dd1 (5) learnt to ride her bike today. It's been a while since we've had something you could call a milestone and it kind of took me by suprise - I didn't think I'd come over all soppy but when I saw her wobbling along but keeping going, with such an enormous beam on her face, I did.

Wow that must have been amazing hatstand - I can remember riding my bike when I was young for the first time. Milestones are coming thick and fast for me as dd is only 20 weeks - the best bit is when she reaches out for something - today it was her toes for the first time, looks at you and smiles as if to say look at me!!

oooo muppet, I do look back fondly on those days when you are utterly engrossed and engaged in a baby's life, where you know everything little thing they can do and notice every achievement. Enjoy it.

kama - my dd is repeating stuff too - learnt to raspberry last week and I caught her in her bouncy chair just blowing them to herself - I watch her for 5 minutes just doing it over and over!!

my dd(5 at the end of august)excitedly told me yesterday that she had a wobbly tooth, on closer inspection she has two top wobblies and one bottom wobbly...........she is so excited and even dreamed about it last night

(she is the youngest in her class) so most of the children have already lost some teeth and like waiting for her birthday she always seems to be 'playing catch up'
me. i am a little my baby girl is growing up.....but very proud too(dd has cerebral palsy and has achieved and has to work hard to achieve what others do naturally)
it's a milestone she is achieving just like any other child

ds did a big gurgly laugh for the first time today - that really melted my heart! But in all honesty I think I probably react the same to all milestones that are reached - I couldn't put the first smile before the first step or the first word.

whoops posted too soon - meant to add that they keep achieving milestones throughout their childhood. dd1 is really shy, but last week asked the school cook for the recipe for the treacle sponge she had made - now that brought tears of pride to my eyes as it was a really BIG thing for her to do!
