Any advice would be good, my 8 month old ds insists on doing all the above when being fed a bottle, unless he has a dummy in his hand to wave. Sounds pathetic I know but it bloody hurts. The problem is half way through the feed he notices the dummy and wants that in his mouth instead. Have tried to substitute with another toy but he just drops it and begins his pinching ritual - I'm beginning to dread feeding him

Going through that with mine on the breast. She's not quite so bad on the bottle, but can still thrash so hard that it's difficult to feed her (yet she clearly wants the feed). I find draping a sheet over her helps - she thrashes at the sheet instead.

I was asking for advice on this on another thread; it seems, from other mums' experiences, to be something that we just have to tolerate and it will eventually pass or diminish.

Possibly teething? The right age for it, and when my dd finished cutting her first and only two teeth so far, the thrashing reduced a bit.

My dd (9mths) is doing the same thing i find that if i feed her in her pram or car seat where shes strapped in she lies stiller and just takes the bottle, but if shes in my arms she thrashes and attacks my face.
