Toddler refusing milk before bed - help

Hi all, I'm new to posting on Mumsnet, but I confess to reading lots of advice on here since becomming a mummy :) My DD is 18 months now and has been having a bottle first thing, followed by breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and tea, with a bottle before bed. Usually goes to sleep at 7:30pm right through until 6:45am (when I have to get up to work). In the last week, I have noticed her eating less and less for breakfast, so I was initially concerned that perhaps she was having too much milk (12 - 18oz per day still). I also noticed that when we got home from Nursery she was whinging for food/bottle, so I gave her some yogurt/fruit and put it down to a growth spurt. However, in the last 3 days, she has refused her bedtime milk, but is waking at 2am wanting it!! Ouch! I'm not sure how to handle this, but I should add that she's running a temperature (not fever) has a cough and is only eating about half her meals. In herself she is absolutely fine and happy. Do you think I should just ride this out - once she's better she'll revert back to the usual routine?? Maybe I should try giving her milk when we get home from Nursery (6:30pm) to see if she would have it earlier?? Any advice appreciated please!

Hiya,
Maybe it's just the bug/temp that's affecting her appetite right now.
I would be tempted to avoid giving her milk during the night incase it becomes a habit though, if it was me I would stick to water if she wakes.
12-18oz is a fair amount of milk at that age though, my ds is nearly two but since around 18 months has only had milk in weetabix in the morning and a cup of milk before bed to drink. The evening milk he has recently started to refuse regularly too.
He's fit and healthy but has the appetite of a flea generally lol!
Hope your dd is feeling better soon

I'd cut the bottle and give her it in a cup but agree with Bellagio, dont get into the habit of giving milk during the night.

Thanks everyone - I am pleased to say that whatever has been ailing her, seems to be over (thank godness!!). I offered her a bottle earlier than usual last night which she happily took, slept through (albeit disturbed) and reports from Nursery this morning say that she ate TONS for brekkie and is quite happily playing. What a relief :)
