hi all,

I'm a new mum to a beautiul baby girl who is just 2 weeks old.

I am breasfeeding and feel it is going well so far, however, I think she is suffering from trapped wind.

She has been very unsettled over the last couple of days. Her stomach gurgles and she draws her knees up to ger tummy before passing wind.

I am not sure what I'm doing wrong, so any advice on things to try would be appreciated I hate to see her so uncomortable.

Hi,
You can try infacol I found it really helped, but there are lots of thing on the market just have a look in the baby milk section in the shops. I used to lay dd on my lap for 30 seconds then sit her on my lap and bump her up and down ten times then put her over my shoulder, it worked for us, but I feel your pain it's so upsetting for parent and baby when you can't get that bloody burp out!!

infacol helped us a lot too, and time really...about 10 weeks or so she seemed so much more able to deal with her wind.

Try bicycling her legs. also, place your thumb and forefinger in a v position, and put either side of her groin just by the leg creases, make each do a circular motion.

thaks for the advice - shall give all a go!

think we had a little break through yesterday as i found a way of feeding her in an upright position which resulted in better burps and less discomfort.

Poor little mites its not easy adjusting to life outside the womb - a big change like that is bound to play havoc on their gut.

thanks again ladies,
x
