errrr, yes, but also it's the age some of them do decide to drop their nap so be warned!! (most aren't ready to, they just decide they are!!!).

My DD is also 2 next month. She sometimes doesn't nap and is ok if it's just one day, but anymore than this and is a nightmare.. so the nap is a must in this house. She will only nap in her cot. If we are out she just doesn't sleep in the buggy.

Sometimes (goes in phases) DD decides to object to nap- crying/screaming/standing up etc in cot. I still put her down and chances are she gives up protest within 5/10 mins and has good nap- have you tried this? You have to be quite determined!!!

i've tried! i left her in her cot for nearly an hour the other day, she cried for about two mins and then was chatting and singing away for the whole time! i understand if she's not tired one day but everyday! i love nap time! thank you for your advice

They resist when they are tired. When they get overtired especially- but if she was happy. Hmmmm?!

DD was a lot clingier when teething and quite a few naps were missed.

Is her behaviour really grotty when tired or is she not so bad? Maybe try a slightly later nap time?

My DD is quite flexible, earlist nap 12, latest nap... 2.30 or so.

If all else fails there is the T.V. while you nap!!!!

Good luck. I love nap time too... I intend to have it for another year at least. DS only quit naps altogether at about 3 and 10 months (lucky me) From 3 they went down to one or two a week, but they were very useful (often at the weekend!!)

thats it they are useful, i like her having an early night i love her being in bed at seven and going down no drama but there are times when we go to family for dinner and i can't make her stay up when sh'e clearly had enough. if i make naps later i do nap at 1.45-2.00 it'll have to be three but don't really want her sleeping till four every day! she gets up 7-7.30 you'd think she'd be ready for a nap by 2!

Oh dear... sounds like maybe she's "one of those" that don't need naps once they're 2. I feel your pain........ time to get some DVDs?
