my dd is 10 mth now, and i usually use teething granules. they containe cammomile so they soothe and make them sleepy (when theyr little!) which is nice! it can be a bit of a pain though, coz you got to get them to open their mouth to pour it in, and sometimes they cough as they try and breathe while its in their mouth. it does really help though and obv their isnt medicine in it which is a plus. when her teeth get really bad we either give her calgel (to numb) or an ice pole or a frozen teether to bite on (same reason).

only real problem with the granules is the funny looks you get if giving them while out and about, i mean come on what would you think of a lady feeding her little one white powder???

Boots do teething granules called Ashton and Parsons - white box with blue text, they are about £2.60 per box and have 20 individual sachets in. My friend suggested them for my ds who is also teething (4.5mths). They worked a treat for her dd and seem to be working for my ds.

Worked a treat for our two (but apparently don't work for all??) -in fact they have both ended up opening their mouths ready when they see you opening the sachet! As well as tipping the whole sachet in in 1 go, I also sometimes put some on a wet fingertip and rub it on the gums.

Hi, I know you said that you are interested in herbal remedies but when my ds was teething I used Anbesol its a very small bottle of liquid (I got it from Boots, only available behind the medicine counter),you just put some on the end of your finger and rub it on the painful area it works straight away numbimg the pain!! I found this so much more affective than Calgel as it didn't disappear/slide of my finger as soon as it came it contact with their saliva!!
Give it a go honestly its great, you'll have a happy, pain free little bubba back in no time.
Good luck!!
