Me and ds (3yo) live with my brother at the moment (due to abusive exP) and recently he's started to call him dad, I've tried to tell him that he's not his dad but his uncle but he still does it. My brother is obviously around a lot and does help look after ds but still he is not his dad. My brother laughs it off and says he'll grow out of it but I have to admit its embarassing as the other day he said daddy was picking us up from when it was actually my brother and me and my brother are obviously brother and sister (we look very alike iykwim).

My DS1 (age 6) used to do this - we had to refer to Uncle in company and make his title pronounced - calling "Uncle" continuously obvious; this did the trick (mostly).

Must be quite embarassing explaing that your not in an incestous relationship and that your db isn't the father of your ds.

As boys2mam says, just rename him uncleX it will filter through eventually. correct him gently each time - if he says Daddy is... say, you mean uncleX is... At this age relationships are very blurred and it is hard for a 3yo to keep it all straight, if you make a fuss or get worried he will probably do it more to get a reaction so just sound a bit bored and keep at it!

My much younger brother used to tell people he had 2 sisters and a brother (me)[hblush]. Keep correcting DS and it will get through, in the meantime, explain to other adults. They will understand.

Dd called the butcher's assistant Dad. He looked about 17. Blush
