do long babies always grow up tall?

DS1 was born long. 91st percentile in length and 50th in weight.

Does this mean he'll be tall? I think its unlikely because both his parents are about 5'5.

So I'm wondering if length at birth is at all a reliable indicator of adult height?

Im not sure, I know that ds was 56cm at birth (not sure what centile that is) and he is now extremely tall compared to his peers, but, he is only 3!

Our long baby has now grown up to a 6ft 2 inch 18 year old. Parents are 'average' height.

Dd2 was a long baby, she's now 4 and 50th percentile for height and weight.

I doubt it - ds was 99th %ile for length at birth and aged 2 is around 10th. He was 50% for weight until 1 year and now is in proportion to height.

Suspect he'll end up around average or just over.

They don't measure length at birth where I am because the measurements at hospital were so inaccurate. Get him measured a couple of times during the first few months to see if he settles on a percentile.

thanks

he's 5 months now, haven't had him measured officially for a while but at about 10 weeks he was on 91st for both height and weight. Sounds like anything could still happen though..

No lol
In 1968 I was the longest baby on record in the city hospital. Now I am 5ft 1in and a teeny bit!
