DS has been able to use scissors (very well supervised) since 2yo. Obviously rounded ended kids ones, not my kitchen scissors :)

DD is 3.5. She's been using them for at least a year, well supervised.

DD is 3.5 and has some rounded kids ones - but she can't use them despite her best efforts. But her fine motor skills seem quite poor compared to other children her age, she takes after DH in that respect (according to MIL anyway).

My DS is 6 and still has issues with scissors - but then he has a little bit of trouble with his fine motor skills.

Yes, from about 2. You can get plastic kiddie scissors that won't cut anything other than paper, but help them get used to the scissor action.

Thanks guys I knew you'd make me feel better. Dh and I were a little suprised that dd (2) was playing using scissors at nursary the other day. A little pfb maybe, inexperience with small children definately [hgrin]
