Things your child learns from older/maturer friends at school

My 9 year old (but quite immature in life experience) DS has told us two things this week that he learnt at school.

The first is; it's manly to walk up to girls and thrust your hips at them in the style of Grease Summer Lovin'.

The second? It's unnatural/wrong (his words) to like your little brother or sister.

He told DH he'd learnt about sex but we think that's related to the thrusting...

TBH, the incest thing was something I told DC as soon as I explained the mechanics of sex. That nobody should do it with relatives or children.

Because being children, they are naturally innocent of those facts. You have to spell it out.

I don't think it's unnatural to like your little brother or sister - just not natural to want to have sex with them...

That's the part that needs to be spelled out, Rabbit! :)

And not doing it with animals.... I think we had to touch on that one at some point. Because it's weird and unkind to the animal, I probably said.

Kids seriously end up wondering those things if you don't actually tell them.
