Help! Do toddlers get clingy again at around 2.8?

DD has gone to nursery FT from 6 months, and has always seemed to enjoy it. In the last few weeks there have been several times when she has woken from her midday nap crying. She has said that it isn't pain or a nightmare. She has also become much more clingy when I drop her off, and at home in general.

Is this a phase...?

She sounds overtired. DS always used to wake up from his nap crying if he hadn't had enough sleep. Try getting her down a little earlier at night maybe?

hmm, thanks Lemur; she doesan't usually nap at all at home at the weekend, just at nursery, so not sure if this is it...

My DD (2.5) is going through a VERY clingy phase right now and sleeps very lightly at the moment. So maybe it is normal?

Thanks MyMamaToldMe, I'd love to think that it was normal; at the moment I'm blaming myself for not being there enough for her...

My DD (2.9) has been very clingy for the last month or so. We co-sleep and she's been wrapped round me like a rucksack every night, which she had stopped doing. Lots of crying and not wanting to be left anywhere.

Thanks rock bird; hard, isn't it? Anyone else?

i would say its normal, my ds4 was 2 in march and is clingy at the moment, not all the time, but he is very wary of new people and is also developing fears of different things, the latest being fireworks, and even the hoover Hmm i think they are just aware that they are seperate and are starting to understand more about the world, become more vocal etc.

am sure my elder three did the same, it is a phase and will pass, just offer lots of cuddles and reassurance :)
