My 3 month old son is getting his first tooth and is in a lot of discomfort. Because of his age I can't use Calgel etc. I hate seeing him in pain. Is there anything I can use to help which doesnt have the usual 6 month age limit?
Thanks

i think you can use teething powder (boots do one) best to check though

if he's an 'angry teether'....red faced...screaming...very hot and bothered...then go to a healthfood shop and ask for the homeopathic remedy

CHAMOMILLA (made by Weleda)....

amazing how it works.... ok for any age...and not a DRUG!!!

The boots powder i believe is similar as it has chamomile in it i believe...???

thanks very much. will give it a go

Yes it pretty much is just chamomilla

its awful when you fel so helpless to help..... you would do anything to relieve the distress!

Made me remember when one of my sons was a bit older than your chappie.... and i was bending over the cot putting Anbesol on his gums...THAT is a very strong liquid...DO NOT TRY IT ON YOUR WEE MAN!....and i went and dropped the bottle...on his face...and about a teaspoon went in his eye.

I am glad to say he was and IS fine..he's 8 now...and was not blinded.

but i felt awful.

dentinox teething gel can be used from any age...
its the only one the seems to work for ds (who is 14.5 months old)

Ibuprofen is OK from 3 months I think?

Give him some at nightime in combination with Nelson's teething powders - worked for my DS

calpol is suitable from 2 months if you buy the right one, Dentinox is fabulous too, worked much better than Calgel and there's no limit on the frequency you can use which i found a problem with calgel

Go to the pharmacy at Boots and ask for Ashton and Parsons teething powder.

It was very good for my dd.

Dentinox and Disprol or Medised (Medised at night because he's in more pain if he's not slept at night when he's teething) work best for DS. We also use Infant Nurofen as his temp always rockets when teething (40.5 last night ).
