My DS is seven months, was weaned at just over four months, and has always loved fruits, veggies, cereals, etc.. just in the past couple of days, he seems to have gone off them. Feeding him is becoming a bit of a battle and he gets upset. He is teething (has been for AAAAGES but no bloody teeth as yet) so I dont want to upset him more, or have him associate food with upset if you know what I mean.
Basically I am giving him a bit more milk to stop him getting hungry, which he happily has. Is this what I should be doing? I am hoping he will eventually embrace his solids again, but should I be focussing more on trying to get him to eat, rather than giving him extra milk?

I think they get very sore mouths when they're teething. It's certainly been my experience with mine that they totally go off eating anything when they are (but then it doesn't take much to put mine off eating solids...).

I would just go along with more milk and not forcing the issue with the solids. Babies can live for a very long time on milk. My fourth child only truly started solids (as in more than just dipping her lips once in a dab of something on a spoon) around 11 months. Don't fret, he'll start again when he's feeling well (barring any other sings of illness that is- teething does not inoculate them against other things!).

Our dd went on spoon-strike at 7 months - she would only put things in her mouth that she could convey there herself! It lasted for about three weeks. Might be worth trying the baby-led weaning approach for a bit and see if that makes any difference. But I wouldn't worry too much - sometimes they do just seem to live on air!
