Baby's Room Temp

I've searched the archives for this and couldn't find anything.

I'm expecting my first at the moment and someone DP works with has kindly given us their old GroEgg room thermometer as her kids have grown up. We've plugged it in already just out of curiosity and discovered our house was way too warm (24c). We've since turned the heating off and started wearing jumpers Grin but the room that will be the nursery is refusing to drop below 20, even with windows open.

The GroEgg says the recommended temp is 16-20, so will the room be ok at around 20-22? Also, that temp feels very cold to us, is it just us being used to much warmer?

We are planning to use GroBags and I'm just a bit worried that we'll accidentally boil the baby without having the heating on!

I agree with what people have said. The bedrooms in our house are often about 28 degrees in summer but all you can do is strip the babies down to a nappy and 0.5 tog sleeping bag if you cant bear to not cover them up.
It very rarely gets below 18 even when its freezing outside and the norm in our house is 20/21. But as well as adjusting what they're wearing, and what covers they have, you need to adjust to the baby too.
DS2 is naturally a hot little body, and I once tried to put him in a fleece sleepsuit when the temp in his room went down to 16. He screamed and screamed and wouldnt go to sleep until I took it off. He generally wears jersey sleepsuits/pjs and had a lightweight sleeping bag when he was tiny.
DS1 on the other hand is a cold child and wore those fleecy sleepsuits all the time through the winter, as well as a 4tog sleeping bag.

It does depend on the baby - mine doesn't like being too hot. Our house is cold - typical winter temperature is 16 degrees and probably a fair bit colder at night. I normally put him in a long-sleeved vest, fleecy babygro and 2.5 tog sleeping bag, but when it was really cold I added a cardigan and a blanket. On those nights the temperature probably went down to about 12 degrees in our room.
