Do boys' nappies exist?

My DS (5 mths) sleeps on his front and does massive wees all night. By 4am his babygro is damp all over the front as wee seeps out and everything needs changing. Can you get nappies for boys that are more absorbent round the front? Any thoughts welcome ( we use pampers currently).

We have the same problem but find that huggies and kirkland (costcos own brand) are both better than pampers... still have the problem though - honestly have found the kirkland ones better then any others we ahve tried! good luck xx

you could try using cloth nappies and adding extra pads in the front. We used to put two extra pads (each folded in half) in DS's night nappy at that age to ensure that he stayed dry. You'd only need a few nappies if you were only using them at night.

Thanks that is good thinking x

For some reason Huggies (& maybe other brands too) don't do boy/girl nappies in this country but do in others.

My nights dramatically changed for the better after a recent trip to Oz where boy Huggies are sold. I had previously tried EVERYTHING to stop DS (then 5 months) leaking through by 3am.... Customised Kotex as a booster, doubling up nappies, going up a size, cloth nappy wraps, cloth nappies with extra boosters... you name it I tried it. Then we went to Oz and used the Huggies normal boy nappies and haven't had a leak since. Bone dry for 12 hours! The nappy weighs an absolute ton come morning (DS feeds a lot in the night) but no leaks whatsoever through to his babygro. Needless to say our suitcases were full of the bloody things on the way back.

So, if you have any friends or family in Oz get them to send you a pack! They are worth their weight in gold! I'm more than happy to send you a couple if you want to see for yourself!

Sorry, just re-read, far too many exclamaition marks for a post about nappies - but seriously, I was at my wits end before I discovered boy Huggies in Oz. I'd tried Huggies here in the UK (and many other brands too) but they didn't last the night.

I thought boy nappies did exist somewhere in the world. I wonder if you can source them on the Internet. Otherwise have got some pals in Oz will ask them!

I had a quick search on the net (before I loaded 5 kilos worth into my luggage) but couldn't find them for sale in the UK, or via an importer. Do let me know if you find them though!

They always used to do separate types. I remember seeing blue and pink Pampers packets. And in a baby book I was handed down it's mentioned in there as well.

Found huggies more absorbant at night. If you go up a size too at night it will have better absorbancy

I used to buy Papmpers for boys .. they were in a blue pack and the girls were pink, obviously. Mind you, that was 7 years ago, so not sure if they still do them
