2 year old has become v teary - normal i'm sure?!

My lovely 24m dd has become very teary for no reason and a real pickle to get to bed - in fact I have let her cry to sleep for the last two nights - she was so exhausted I knew it was really the only way, or she would have sat on my lap in her nursery all night! She has a teddy and a blanket which she has in bed, and she has started to ask them during they day and even occasionally asks her for her dummy (which she has only ever been interested in for bedtime). She goes to nursery 3 days a week whilst I work and is notably more tired and difficult on those days - in fact I have her for days straight and generally she is back to some semblance of normality. I should add that the tears tend to come during moments of frustration or tantrums (mummy vs dd in battles on coat wearing etc) and is not a day long thing. She has also cried when I have left her at nursery a couple of times (horrible) so I'm starting to think I'm expecting too much of her... But I suspect this is just part of toddlerhood, so would appreciate any re-assurance (?!) or advice. Thanks!

My two year old just went through the same thing. Really teary, everything seemed to be overwhelming her. It turned out to be just a phase and she's suddenly got a lot better this week.
Has anything changed in your life or hers? Thinking about it, for my dd, it was because some of the other children at nursery moved up to the 3 year olds room. Although she's not been there very long, I think it made her a bit unsettled. Could be something similar? Just a thought.

Actually she has just moved up a room, so it could be that? Perhaps the babies are getting more attention?

Could be, or just because it's different. If she's anything like mine, it can be the slightest thing. Mine actually cried the other day 'cos the airing cupboard door had been left open. Not really worth crying about!

Thank you - she was a lot better last night so we'll keep trying. at least she's eating. so that's a nice change!
