A message of hope for parents of fussy eaters

DS1 has been a fussy eater since weaning, complicated by various allergies. I have had countless threads on here over the years panicking about his limited diet and lack of interest in food.

Anyway, things have been gradually improving and he has slowly been introducing a few more things in his diet (at his worst point, fish fingers was the ONLY hot meal he would eat).

So today he ASKED to have 'funny face' pizza for lunch. It's the first time he has EVER eaten pizza (the last time I tried to get him to try it, about 6 months ago, he was so anxious about it that he became hysterical). I put some veg in a funny face on the top (AK would have been proud) and he not only ate a good amount of pizza but picked off the broccoli 'nose' and ate it Shock Grin

I never thought I would be so proud of anyone for eating pizza. Anyway I just wanted to share as I used to absolutely despair over his eating. I have never forced him to eat something he didn't like or made him go to bed hungry. He just seems to be getting better (slowly) by himself :)

Thanks for that.

My dd1 has been quite fussy from time to time but now she has her lunch at pre-school she eats pretty well, which is exactly what countless people told me she would do.

Dd2 1.3 is a terribly fussy eater and only seems to eat porridge, yoghurt, pasta and bread at the moment. Seems to hate my casserole which she used to love (sob). The only fruit & veg she gets is pureed fruit mixed in her porridge and mashed tomato in her pasta.

Hoping this is just a phase.....

That's lovely to hear Meg! It's good to know there's light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm still battling on with my 22 month old who lives on Weetabix and fresh air.........!
