Trim it when he is asleep.

Do you think he would be any better with a trimmer, i know it wouldn't really be a style but just if you need to take some length off?
Or you could leave it a bit if it's not too long and maybe he will have improved in a few months?
Last time i took my ds to hair dresser they wouldn't finish his hair because he wouldn't keep still enough, she was worried she would stab him with the scissors by mistake, so told me go and finish it off while he's asleep - which was easier said than done as he moved in his sleep everytime and kept pushing scissor away by like a reflex kind of action :S
Eventually managed to get it finished over about another week! bit by bit... he needs it cutting again now really, probably just going to leave it as long as we can get away with, then hope he has grown more sensible by then? he is 2.2

My DS was like this and has very thick, coarse, wavy hair, not at all the sort that looks nice long, so letting it grow wasn't really an option. We bought clippers and did him at home with them on the longest setting for a couple of years, him on a stool in front of the telly with a bag of sweets, not ideal, and he still cried but it was a lot less stressful than going to the hairdressers. He hated the noise of the clippers though. Last year a children's salon opened in our town, they can sit and watch DVDs and lo and behold he is happy having his hair cut now (he is 6 now BTW). It might be worth seeing if there is anything similar in your area.

Yep, clippers! My son is 20 months and I had a terrible time trying to cut his hair. He screamed, cried, tried to grab the scissors, squirmed...the lot. In desperation I tried the clippers on a fairly long setting and he just sat there and let me do it. May be worth a try? He looks super cute with clippered hair as well, and it is much easier to shampoo.

I will buy some trimmers and try thAt first , then if no joy, I will try when he's asleep! Probably cheaper than taking him to the hair dressers. I have heard of a special one for kids, so if he let's me use the clippers, I may venture there! If it's especially for kids then I won't get any evil looks off customers trying to have a relaxing cut! Lol

My son is two. Last two haircuts just awful awful. We went today and....it was fine. We didn't go into the shop until the very last moment. I took toys. I took sultanas. I took milk. I stood in front of him and talked and played and read books. Somehow it went ok. Guess you never can tell.
