co-sleep kicking

I have been co-sleeping with my DD since birth and I love it. (DH is also happy with it too.)

The problem is, with all the benfits of us all sleeping well initially, DD now keeps us awake through kicking in her sleep. It is drivime me mad and I am beginning to think about putting her in a cot instead (although I don't feel ready to do so yet!)

Does anyone else have this problem and if so, how do you solve it?

PS. DD is 11 weeks old.

yes, dd is 18mths and has been kicking us since she could move. It hasn't got better. We have put her in a cot now, rather than have her kick dh in the balls, pull my arm hair, gouge my face, pinch my chins, etc. etc. When she comes in the bed now, she actually seems to be asleep, while dh and I are most definitely not. Sorry, that's not what you wanted to hear, right?!

Kicking that hard at 11 weeks old? You may have a little Tae-Kwon-Do champ there!Grin

Ds2 used to be awful to sleep with. Dh would be hanging out of one side of the bed and I would be hanging out of the other while he lay crossways and had the whole middle of the bed to himself. He just did it gradually over a few hours and we would just inch out further and further!

No solution, I'm afraid, in that we never found a way to stop him but he did grow out of it, eventually.

We have many a time had four in the bed when ds1 and ds2 were little and now again with ds3 and ds4. Nothing nicer than snuggling up with a warm baby!smile]
