teething

Have noticed that DD is teething, can feel a few bumpy bits on her gums and see/feel a tooth at towards the back on her top gums (strange I thought they came through later!).

Anyway, I wondered how long it should take for that tooth to come through properly? You can see half of it, but it hasn't broken the skin yet.

(This is her first tooth so no idea about how it works at all!)

It will probably take a few days. Actually the sorest bit is breaking through the bone of the jaw, rather than cutting through the gum (although that can be sore too).

Teething gel with lignocaine will help, and sometimes sucking on a teething ring or a cold thickish slice of cucumber.

Argh. It can just go on and on. You think they're breaking through then ... no ... nothing.

What works for one doesn't work for the other.

TTSP!

Thanks :)

I wondered if it might go one for a while, pretty shocked it's started so early, I was thinking we wouldn't have this for another month or two at least. Still it explains why she was a bit crabby the last couple of weeks.
