baring uneven weight on feet?

hello my DD is 4 months and i am a first timer. think i am getting a bit paranoid but when i hold her in a standing position she puts pressure on her right foot and its flat - sometimes she also does it with her left foot so it extends fine, is the same length etc but other times she seems to lift the left foot off the ground or put it on tip toes whilst putting more pressure on the right one. i dont have any other developmental concerns and over the last couple of weeks she is easily raising her head and chest off the ground on tummy time (not that i have done much tummy time to this point). she is not in any pain or anything and when on her back and i push against both feet they both push back equally.

is there a problem or is this kind of normal development.

any thoughts appreciated.

Lie her on her tummy and look at the backs of her legs and bottom. Are all the creases symmetrical (i.e. where there is a crease on her left leg, there is also a crease on her right leg)? If they are then everything is probably OK for now.

Uneven creases can suggest a hip problem that should be checked by the gp. Apart from this, I don't think you need to be concerned about how she puts her feet down until after walking is well established.

many thanks she is one of a twin and so had a hip scan a few weeks back - which was standard protocal given postional issues with twins - the scan was normal. she also had a physical exam at the time of back etc which was also normal. i didnt mention this as have only noticed in the last week. primarily coz her brother is built like a tank and is already lifting himself to standing if you gently pull on his wrists (but i think he is an outlier) cant help but compare the two though.

actually i just checked the back of her knees and both have two main creases but one has a more defined third crease in the middle. do you think this means anything.

I have no idea if that means anything.

If I was in your situation I would mention it to the gp at the next time you are there. I tend to store up any questions that I suspect may be trivial for when I take my DD to the gp for something more important.

My DD is 2.4 and was referred for a check on her hips because she tends to turn one foot in when walking. I dithered for ages about mentioning it to the gp because her creases were all symmetrical. Gp instantly referred her but she turned out to not have a hip problem but instead she has more widespread hypermobility.
