Socialisation

I have a 9 month old daughter and worried because she doesn't get much chance to socialise with other people or children.

I live abroad and don't know anyone, I have looked and there are no mother and baby groups, I am a stay at home mum and she really only has contact with me and hubby, people round here seem very closed and I have tried meeting new people but it is very difficult.

When we go to shops and people give her some attention she does respond and loves it, but how much will the lack of contact with other people affect her? Like any other parent I want what is best for her and want her to be the best she can be, I am just worried what problems (if any) this will cause later.

Thanks in advance

Wraakkie :)

Parks/playgrounds are great places for meeting people. Find some! I don't think children so young are bothered about the age of people they socialise with - my DD (14 months) would probably just pull hair/scratch eyes/push over anyone her own size! Just taking her out, for walks or whatever, will get her meeting people. Smile
