My 11 mo DD has just learnt to pull up to sitting from lying down using her abdominals of steel (secretly I am impressed - after two kids I can't do this). She is delighted at this new gimmick and WILL NOT lie down in her cot for morning or lunch nap or at night. Eventually after a lot of crying at night she slumps into a rag doll position sitting up but head between her legs just touching the mattress. I usually go in and tip her over but more often then not find her in this same position a hour later. She is exhausted and has darker circles under her eyes than me. I have tried tucking her in tightly under a blanket but that will not hold her. Last night I sat in her room and did a light show on her ceiling with my mini torch. It helped as she stayed lying down to watch it so I will invest in a Tomy lightshow thing but again an hour later she was sitting up asleep in ragdoll position which I find very upsetting to see. I know they are bendy at that age but it cannot be good quality sleep.
Does anyone have any experience of a baby who will not lie down ? I am just wondering whether it is a passing phase or the new normal (gulp). Any advice or shared experiences ?
