Nursery will be used to it. Boys are a nightmare, they just don't care. I think it is a mixture of developing reliable control more slowly and just not feeling so uncomfortable wet as a girl does, because they wet in the front IYKWIM. My almost 5 yr old wet himself 3 times yesterday, although he can go for weeks being completely dry. Drives me mad.

You COULD change your approach from stick to carrot though - rather than no dvds if more sad than happy, how about a treat if mnore happy than sad? Tiny bag of choc buttons or something? Just a thought.

Otherwise make sure nursery has a spare bag of 2x trousers and 2x pants at all times!! It will get better. Slowly!

my ds was the same. Always had an "accident" bag on his peg just in case! Nursery were fine with it. Try not to make too much an issue of it as I promise you he will get worse if you do!
Try to stay positive and make your goals really short term... a sticker every 2-3 hours (boys have rubbish memories!)
Be upfront with nursery, they will find out eventually, and they should be fine, they may even provide special nursery stickers for him if he stays dry throughout his sessions there
Good luck!

Try rewarding rather than punishing.

Ask him more often if he needs the loo.

We also let ds wee outside (DH's idea) which he thinks is hilarious! (Not all the time but if we are out and he can hit a tree...it is a boy thing...makes me cringe!)

agree with princess....

make the reward POSITIVE.... ie you get a DVD when you have 3 / 5 / 10 (what ever you choose stickers)

then the target is achieved.... you can 'celebrate' together... and its all a happy occasion! rather than a 'youve not achieved it today' approach whcih only gives -ve vibes.

Other then that keep giving gentle reminders... praise the succeses... and IGNOR the failures....

i always (once the child is old enough 'not to have accidents') make the child GO INTO THE TOILET.... remove wet clothes THEMSELVES... sit on loo to try for some more... was hands etc... put wet clothes in wash basket... then put on dry clothes THEMSELVES (or as much as they can possible do by themselves)

this makes having accidents boring and tediouse... it become easier for the to just go the loo and wash hands, rather than have all the hassle of changing their clothes

(is dont just change their clothes for them where they are standing!)

should say IE dont just.... (rather than is) sorry!

DS1 was the same always wetting himself and pooing himself. Driving us to distraction, but we did a sticker chart where he got stickers every time he went to the toilet and it worked like magic - this was when he was about 3 and a half.
