What age did your dcs stop having a daily or bedtime milk drink?

ds is 22m and now he isn't drinking from a botle at bedtime and comfort guzzling Grin he has gone from what i thought was a greedy boy to not really being interested in milk, even starting a joyous phase where he stores a mouthful of milk then spits it out while he sits on my knee! he hardly drinks any milk now, probably an inch from a tommee tippee cup, if that.

Should he be drinking more or doesn't it matter by this age? He does sometimes drink a litt;e bit on a morning or have some on his cereal...

Lordy knows, my ds drinks nearly a pint a day. I wish I could stop him because he might have a fighting chance at being dry at night if he didn't have a massive cup of milk at bedtime. He does the same in the morning too, we get through 16 pints a week Shock

Littlest Manky has never drunk cows milk at all, and only drinks water or diluting juice.

He is now 4, nearly five, and gags at the thought of milk as a drink. I don't worry about it.

He gets loads of calcium from other sources, but will take warm milk in oatibix.

My older two love milk and still have a cup before bed. They are 8 and 6.

Try hot chocolate? My dd is 6 and will generally have one before bed......Not that hot obviously but I think the benefits of the milk outweigh the sugar.....

I'm a nanny - not a mum yet, and all of my charges up to 14 have had a glass of milk, or a bowl or cereal with milk(which they then drink from bowl) before bed.

I have commonly seen kids from off the bottle age (2 ish?) to 4 ish not drink the milk very well, then go on to drink it when they are older. Just keep offering it and he will take what he needs.

That's my mantra - they take what they need. Ergo - no need for any stress with food or drink at all.

Very reassuring regarding all food issues and children. I like your mantra :-)
