hey :)
my 7month old ds is still in 0-3 month old vests yet he's in 6-9month old clothes, the vests arent exactly tight but arent loose either, in a few weeks we'll probably hav to get 3-6month. but is this weird or is it just me?

It could be that the vests are fine for body length but his arms and legs are long enough to need bigger sizes? Are they from the same shops?
My DS can wear 6-9 months vests but is in 9-12 months for everything else. Some jeans he's in 12-18 months but that's because he has a big tummy!

It is a bit weird, but it's not you, it's the vests Grin My dd is 16 mo and only just out of 6-9 month sleepsuits. At 6 months she was only just out of 0-3 month vests. She wears mostly 12-18 month day clothes, but they seem to make vests strangely baggy, I find Smile

Mt 9 month old still wears 3-6 month vests, so I think its just the way they are made. I wouldn't worry.

Don't worry - my 22 month old ds is wearing 9-12 months shorts and trousers!!! Think he's quite short but he's not noticeably that much smaller than others his age - shops vary so much in their sizes.

My 15 month old daughter still wears 6 to 9 months clothes. She is absolutely tiny and at the bottom of the percentile charts. Her weight is so low that the health visitor came out to measure her.

However she is in proportion and are development is fine.

Children come in all different shapes and sizes. Provided that your baby is happy and developing then I would not worry too much. (Easier said than done!)

not to worry, and your dc is saving you money not growing out of the clothes so quick so could be a good thing

michelle89 · 09/08/2010 15:29

yeah it seems they make vests baggy because when i last weighed my ds he weighed 18lb, that was about a month-2months ago, so my guess is he's around 20-22lb now, i just find it weird he's around 20lb and can still fit in 12lb vests!

My DD is a skinny little thing. Shes 2yrs old and normally wears 12-18mth. However she does have a 6-9 skirt and 9-12 leggings and tops that she comfortably wears.

Its such a nightmare finding clothes the right length that arent massive round the waist! Adjustable waist clothes are a must here.

DawnAS · 09/08/2010 19:55

Totally know what you mean! My DD is still in 6-9 month pyjamas - even though she's 14 months old! But the best are her feet - she's still in 3-6 month shoes!! Both DH and I are 5ft 8 but her Auntie and Nan on DH's side are only 5ft - she's obviously going to take after them!! Grin

I wouldn't mind, but she was born between the 25th and 50th centile but is now on the 2nd! She is reaching all her milestones though and is just gorgeously dinky!! Smile

My LO is 6 months and still in 0-3 months vests and clothes. She is only just going into 3-6 months, it is a funny comparison with her cousin who is just 9 days older and in 9-12 months clothes!

We have the problem that most clothes seem to be designed for chubby babies and our LO is very slight! She is drowned by lots of outfits. She is below the 2nd percentile though.

My dc's are a lot older than yours and over the years I have learnt that ages on clothes are only a guide. The other day we went out in the evening for a meal with the dc's. My 5yo changed out of his shorts and t shirt he had been wearing all day (size 2-3) into long trousers and a shirt which were age 5 and fitted him perfectly.

Just be happy you're getting more wear out of the vests!
