DS has been throwing full on wailing tantrum for last 20 minutes - DH and DD are going to church and then to a cafe. DS has proclaimed his lack of interest in church but wants to go to a cafe and obviously the world is ending.

Am ignoring (or trying to) but it is wearing. Why is the 6 year old more prone to flying off the handle than 4 year old DD who is generally rather more pleasant to know?

The intensity and volume seem to have decreased a bit. Am going to try to tempt him with a bike ride in a bit.

Enjoy your quiet time! I have similar problem with my 3.5 year old dts. CAn only suggest trying ot encourage him to communicate his feelings in a different way!

The peace was nice :)

Don't mind the tantrum so much - it's just at getting on for 7 I would prefer it if it would stop. He is generally OK though Grin

If its any comfort Noah my normally easy 6.6 yr old DD has regressed into a stroppy, short-fused toddler recently who cries if you look at her the wrong way; roll on September....

I feel so bad, thank god it's not just my DS.

DS starts school in Sept, so it's our last summer together - I will be back teaching full time ... and he is being sooo stroppy, crying at anything, if you tell him off for something small, he's crying "You're hurting my ears" "I feel ill".

And I'm worried that he'll be the cry baby child in his class, although he's the size of a 6 year old!
