meltdowns when bladder full

Dd has been toilet trained for over 6 months. No accidents.

However she suddenly becomes incredibly badly behaved whenever her bladder is full. Shouting, snatching, screaming, crying, tantrumming - we always forget it is probably because she needs a wee and when she is calm she will say "I need a wee" and afterwards reverts back toher happy sunny self.

It doesnt happen everytime, sometimes she will just say she needs to go, and go, but it is almost like when she has held on too long (I am clutching at straws here)

Does anyone else's child behave in such a strange way?

Yes! Not as much now, but gosh we had a phase of exactly as you said, would always forget and then suddenly go 'ah!'. Sometimes I had to actually forced her to sit on the toilet cos I KNEW she would feel better... Had a few night ones of these too

Mind you, when I think about it, I get quite irritable if I need a wee and can;t go for whatever reason

It hasn't happened for ages (dd not me I mean), you'll be pleased to hear.

Oh yes, ds (3) gets really grumpy and tetchy for no apparent reason and then the penny drops, 'do you need a wee?' off he goes and the grumps have gone. most odd!
