DD's in her bedroom with a 16 year old boy and has shut the door...

He arrived two hours ago and for the first hour and a half she stropped around as he and I were talking (he's a friend's son who has come to talk to me about universities in the UK) and she felt left out.

She then disappeared and reappeared dressed in her ballet tutu .

And then she asked whether she couldn't show him round our flat.

Shall I go and listen at the door???

There's always that big pile of laundry that you need to take in there NOW.

LolaKnickers · 22/07/2010 19:44

How old is she?

I'd say listening at the bedroom door may backfire in terms of ongoing relationship. It's too underhand. Perhaps something more obvious - shout to ask if they want tea / biscuits / curry / anything else you can think of. If no response bang on the door to ask. And / or clean the bathroom or some other adjacent room. Just make her aware of your presence rather than sneaking around.

She's only wee isn't she?

scurryfunge · 22/07/2010 19:46

If she is in a tutu, I reckon she must be about 7!

traceybath · 22/07/2010 19:47

Isn't she 5?

He'll be desperately trying to escape in a very polite way

Just made me think of the scene in High Society where Grace Kelly's sister does a balletic turn to gain attention

TheCrackFox · 22/07/2010 19:49

Like mother, like daughter, eh?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 22/07/2010 19:49

Very good Bonsoir

I expect he is getting the guided tour of teddies/dolls/pictures or whatever your DD likes best

LolaKnickers · 22/07/2010 19:50

Oh, she's little?!! So he's being held hostage and possibly made to wear a ballet tutu? Let him suffer in that case!!

mumblecrumble · 22/07/2010 19:50

How old is she?

MaeMobley · 22/07/2010 22:02

I think she is 5.

2shoes · 22/07/2010 22:06

if she isn't 5 but older(teen) open the door.
ds had a 14 year old GF when he was 16. the door stayed open

LolaKnickers · 22/07/2010 22:06

If she's 5 I would definitely let the boy suffer! It may just put him off having unprotected sex when he's at uni!!

I originally thought we were talking two teenagers "at it"...
