Due to have a boy in five weeks time. We are stuggling though.

I like:

Heath
Horatio

Actually we both like Horatio but don;t want the child to get bullied for having unusual name.

I also like:

Michael (dh says it's boring)
Vincent (dh hates)
Frank (dh also hates)

Aaaargh - help! Any thoughts. Are they all awful?

I love the idea of Heath, giving your son a name so evocative of moorland seems lovely to me. But, then Heath Ledger is so strongly associated with the name.

Horatio - quite like it. Personally, I would not worry about the bullying issue. Kids grow into their names.

Michael is a nice name too. I don't have a problem with boring names personally.

Heath is a good name.

Michael is my DS middle name, I like it. But it has family connections so that's really why I chose it.

I don't mind Vicent but not a name I would choose. The rest of the name you have listed I am not keen on.

I like 'boring' names as they tend to date better, so Michael is probably my favourite. I think it would inevitably be shortened to Mike though, so it would depend whether you are comfortable with this.

I also like Heath, but probably wouldn't use it myself due to not being safe enough

I LOVE Horatio. Go for that!

An American friend tells me it's not that unusual in the States because it's a common south American name.

I like Horatio best from your suggestions.

Or how about

Orlando
Frederick
Clifford
Miles
Elias
Sidney
Francis
Victor
Leopold
Walter
Henry
Edwin
Theodore
Samuel
Maximilian
Felix

Unless your sending your son to Eton I would not name him Horatio.

Imagine your son playing football with his mates on a sunday afternoon, and them calling him Horatio. It wont be Horatio, it'll be an awful nickname like Hoe.

Heath is okay.

I think Henry, Samuel (Sam), Maximiliam (Max) and Theodore (Theo) as suggested by coffeefestival are all good.

Kate

P.S. I like the name Horatio, but think it would be a burden.
