DP & I both really like the name & it sounds really good with our girl middle name & surname, but when looking on a few websites they said something we hadn't thought of, just wanted to know the 1st thing that comes into peoples heads when they hear the name to see if we need to change our minds. Thanks

Katie Price = Jordan.

Then this woman I cant bloody stand who is also called Katie.

Such a shame as its such a nice name!

PartialToACupOfMilo · 11/06/2010 21:35

I was always a Katie as a child (with 'ie' not 'y'), but more often Kate now and I love my name

gwendolenlongstocking · 11/06/2010 21:35

Nohting really. Would never think of Katie Price. If I really try and think of something, the first thing is prob "waity katie" as the tabloids call Kate Middleton. Which is not exactly the kind of thing that will overshadow a Katie's life.

Minshu · 11/06/2010 21:35

My DD's name is similar, and there is a lovely little girl at a baby group we go to called Katie (gorgeous, gorgeous). Another friend's DD who is a bit picky - but has just turned 3, so that's not unexpected

Never thought Price, tbh

ArseHolio · 11/06/2010 21:36

being ansolutly twatted in sundissential toilets with my friend Katy was the first thing that came in to my head.

Not sure that is any better that Katie Price tbh.

myhandslooksoold · 11/06/2010 21:36

Hopkins - not a good thought

plonker · 11/06/2010 21:41

Ah I love the name Katie

Love Kate too!

unfitmother · 11/06/2010 21:42

I've heard of Jordan, don't associate her with 'Katie' at all.

strongblackcoffee · 11/06/2010 21:43

Hopkins

shimmerysilverglitter · 11/06/2010 21:44

That this is the name that my sister was going to be called.

It was also in the top 3 for dd. I think it is such a pretty name.

Also prefer Katie spelling rather than Katy.

Kate lovely too.

BikeRunSki · 11/06/2010 21:44

My lovely friend who is Katie for Kathleen.

SirBoobAlot · 11/06/2010 21:44

Katie Price.

Second was "What Katie Did" though, if that's any consolation.

bibbitybobbityhat · 11/06/2010 21:46

Hopkins or that one who is engaged to Russell Brand.

I prefer Kate.

K K K Katie, beautiful Katie
You're the only g g g girl I adore

foureleven · 11/06/2010 21:46

price

HurleySatOnMe · 11/06/2010 21:48

Hopkins I'm afraid. But only because she riles me so. I think Kate is lovely though, if I didn't have a single syllable surname my dd would have been Kate. I think it sounds more grown up as well, iyswim, I'm not sure Katie is a real grown ups name (apologies to all Katies)

ReshapeWhileDamp · 11/06/2010 21:49

Um, I think 'Ah, Katie. Nice name, I know at least five under 7'!

Katie Price doesn't really enter into it for me.

liberty30 · 11/06/2010 21:51

Well I certainly don't think of katie Price lol - infact the scary bint doesnt even suit that name !!
Katie is a classic , sweet , sassy name - a very good choice as it's ageless ie you get old dears called Katie , woman my age and todays babies . I was seriously considering it for my ds and choose something similar in style. Perfect - go for it .

katiepotatie · 11/06/2010 22:04

Fabulousness - obviously

pogleswife · 11/06/2010 22:07

My lovely daughter who is Katie short for
Catriona

GrimmaTheNome · 11/06/2010 22:11

I think of DDs wonderful nanny.

jpg is slightly wrong IIRC (and its about a 40 year old recollection to my mum singing, hasn't entered my head since till now!)

'K-k-k-Katie, bay-eautiful katy
You're the only one that I a-d-d-d-d-d-d-dore
When the m-m-m-moon shines
over the cow shed
I'll be waiting for you at the k-kitchen door

bratnav · 11/06/2010 22:14

My DD2, but she is Caitlin shortened to Caity

ravenAK · 11/06/2010 22:16

I prefer it as a shortening for Katherine tbh, & even then I prefer Kate or Katy.

It's a bit nondescript & forgettable, sorry.

One of those names where there'll be a Katie B & a Katie W, say, in a class of 32, & they'll both be terribly nice & hardworking but you struggle to actually remember which is which when writing reports.

On the plus side, it's pretty, timeless, & if you went with it as a nn for Katherine, & dd didn't like it, she could be Kathy, Kitty, Kat etc etc etc...
