Anyone Italian here? Is Fiorella ok in Italy?

Hi
I used to have a lovely friend in my 20s called Fiorella, but we lost touch. I knew her in the UK, and always wanted to call a child that name.

However, does anyone know if Fiorella has any bad coonations in Italy (eg, is it a common prostitute/glamour girl name like Jordan, or name of a nasty characcter in a famous book/film etc or is it considered pretentious?) Or is it it a bit of a classic name like Elizabeth is in the UK?

Thanks

Im not Italian but i live in italy, i don't know any young Fiorellas so i doubt it's in the top 10, but there is a famous singer Fiorella Mannoia thats all that springs to mind, sorry thats not much help!

Fiorella was the main character in a Peruvian soap I was obsesse with out there, so I love it! Doubt any italians will have seen it though! They called her 'La Fiore' as a nickname.

Thanks for that! Yes, Fiore was my friend's short name, which also means little flower. She was Italian and very beautiful....
