Advice re: narnia names!!

weegiemum · 06/06/2010 15:01

I have a school friend, Susan (always known as Susan, never Sue, Susie etc ...)

She has 2 children , Ed (Edward, always ka Ed) and Lucy.

Is expecting her 2nd ds, wants to call him Peter.

Am thinking that Peter, Susan, Ed and Lucy is a bit Narnia?

Or is that just me.

(Dh of friend is Derek, which breaks the link a bit!!!).

WOuld you comment, or let be?

I think it'd be cool.
It's not obvious enough for most people to notice so its quite likely that she hasn't even realised

5DollarShake · 06/06/2010 15:05

Has anyone pointed out the Narnia connection to her? Is she bothered? If not, then I guess it's her choice (although it is a bit of a Narnia overload!).

dizzydixies · 06/06/2010 15:07

I don't think it matters and I'm a huge Lewis fan - there's a thought, Peter Lewis

weegiemum · 06/06/2010 15:13

I haven't pointed it out, I don't want to freak her out.

She is a big CS Lewis fan so I can't imagine it hasn't occured to her at all.

I just wouldn't do that to my kids, but if she wants to its her choice.

Shoudl I just keep my mouth shut?

Yeah keep schum, most people won't notice, it's hardly like they're all called Grumpy, Sleepy, Dopey and Bashful.

differentID · 06/06/2010 15:19

if she had a Peter there would also be the Eastenders connection. Peter and Lucy Beale?

They're perfectly lovely names, so I would n't be worrying too much about the Narnia connection.

alittlebitshy · 06/06/2010 15:21

i am not sure it would really stand out especially as her ds is an Edward rather than an edmund....

Pozzled · 06/06/2010 15:26

ERmm if she is a big CS Lewis fan, then why on earth would she need it pointed out to her? Of course she is doing it deliberately.
Personally I would find it a bit twee having all four 'Narnia' names in a family, but each to their own. They've obviously thought about it, I wouldn't comment.

weegiemum · 06/06/2010 15:27

OK, I'll keep quiet.

Will while writing Christmas cards, but otherwise, its her family, her decision!

Bit mean to snurk.

Don't like this thread.

TrillianAstra · 06/06/2010 15:32

I like it . It's not as if you would say or wriTe them in that order anyway.

MagalyZz · 06/06/2010 15:34

I wouldn't see the big deal. They're just classic names.

My friend's sister has a George and a chloe and my 4 year old made the observation that they are both peppa pig names. (cousin chloe, to those who aren't huge fans).

weegiemum · 06/06/2010 15:35

You don't have to like it.

I was just asking?

good point ALBS

mummyofexcitedprincesses · 06/06/2010 16:00

Lovely names, no problem wth Narnia names at all as long as the next one doesn't get called Mr Tumnus or Aslan.

Honeywitch · 09/06/2010 23:18

I knew a Caspian growing up. He was very good looking and I had a massive crush....
