Which is best and what image do you get from these names?Middle name Lucy. Alternatively, any other two/three syllable names with a 'nature' theme.

I like Annabel best from your list, but the "l" does run into the start of Lucy.

Aurora
Aster
Jasmine
Marigold
Saffron
Violet
Zinnia

LuluF · 31/05/2010 16:34

I'm not keen on Hazel as it reminds me of ladies in their 50s - nothing wrong in that but, I'm not ready for baby Hazels if that makes sense.

Annabel is my favourite from your list.

Other nature names:

Clover
Tansy
Ivy
Iris
Ianthe (meaning Violet)

jellybeans · 31/05/2010 16:37

Annabel is my favourite, prettier and with more nn choices. Susanna and Hazel abit old fashioned and Susanna would be spelled wrong alot of the time...(people may assume Suzanna, Susannah etc)

swanandduck · 31/05/2010 16:44

They're all nice and we thought of Hazel for dd. I absolutely love Susanna as well.

NadiaWadia · 31/05/2010 22:45

Susanna is absolutely gorgeous.
Annabel is lovely but not as good as
Susanna(h).

Hazel - sorry, middle aged.

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 31/05/2010 22:48

i love hazel, its my nans name and i think its really lovely!

mathanxiety · 31/05/2010 22:50

I love Hazel, but Hazel Lucy has two Ls running into each other, same for Annabel.

Susanna is beautiful and flows well with Lucy.

I love Ianthe and Zinnia.

Zora
Zoe
Keziah

LuluF · 31/05/2010 22:53

Or, instead of Keziah - you could have Cassia - it has the same meaning, I believe.

tummytickler · 31/05/2010 23:06

I love Hazel - it s currently flying high on my own list, but I am trying to decide if it is classic or a bit trendy. I do tend to see nature names such as Hazel, Iris, Dahlia, primrosse etc as more classic than trendy though - I can't decide!

Susannah is lovely, and Susie and Suki are very cute nn.

I hate Annabel I am afraid. It brings to mind a spoilt little horror, although I have nothing on which to base this opinion.

rather boring too - for me it is starting to blend with all the Isabelles.

Prefer Anne to Annabel.

LetThereBeRock · 31/05/2010 23:18

Hazel.I'm not a fan of the others but I really love Hazel.

mathanxiety · 01/06/2010 03:33

Linnea (linden/ lime -- Swedish)
Cynthia
Sylvia
Seren (star -- Welsh)
Arden
Tamara
Eden
Chloe
Aveline (possibly means hazel tree, possibly refers to 'bird' -- Old French)
Calantha (lovely flower -- Greek)
Yolanda/ Jolanta (another form of violet -- Greek, French)
Leilani (heavenly flowers -- Hawaiian)
Marsaili (Marjorie/Pearl -- Scots Gaelic)
Devorah
Aspen
Zytka (Rose -- Polish)
Eira (snow -- Welsh)

nooka · 01/06/2010 06:10

Susanna is great, as is Susannah. I agree with Lulu, Hazel does sound a little out of it's time.

autodidact · 01/06/2010 06:59

Susanna(h) the nicest by far.

ZZZenAgain · 01/06/2010 07:23

Hazel or Susanna

I don't think either go particularly well with Lucy as middle name though

Margeaux · 01/06/2010 07:24

I love Annabel Lucy.
Very pretty

ellesabe · 02/06/2010 10:07

How about Heather?

TheFallenMadonna · 02/06/2010 10:12

I love Susannah.

JoKettle · 03/06/2010 12:29

Susannah Lucy - beautiful.

silverdogflower · 03/06/2010 12:42

I have got a Susannah! Love the name but she is always called Susie which is fine but I prefer the long version. She has Helen as a second name. Lucy sounds good too. Have only met one other child called Susannah so like it that it isn't over used (yet).

MagalyZz · 03/06/2010 14:26

They're all lovely imo. I'd put an H on the end of Susannah.

Lucy works as a middle name for Susannah but not Annabel or Hazel as the Ls run into each other.

Hazel is old lady chic but it's a good one. ie, not like say Gladys, trying so hard that it's awful.

minipie · 03/06/2010 14:35

I really like Hazel. Not so keen on the other two.

Doesn't go brilliantly with Lucy due to the Ls running together but how often do people say their full name out loud anyway.

Hazel Lucy for me def.

craftynclothy · 03/06/2010 14:58

I'm a Hazel and I hate it, sorry

belgo · 03/06/2010 15:04

I know several Hazels of all ages both sides of the continent - it's been a consistently used names across the decades - and it seems to be becoming more popular.

You can tell I have a Hazel

linz17xxx · 03/06/2010 21:25

I love the name Annabel

LaDiDaDi · 03/06/2010 21:27

Susannah
