I always wonder what it would be like as an adult to be called Matilda.

I like flowery girlie names but I think you have to be careful.

Matilda is very over-used these days.

I know a Matilda who's known as Matty (sp?)

I like Alicia too!

I love Matilda, but really dislike Matty, Tilly, Tilda and any other shortening of it.

How are you pronouncing Alicia? Alissia lovely, Aleesha, not so much.

Matilda is lovely but it is popular here.
I don't like Alicia but Alice is beautiful!

where is matilda popular out of interest? london?

florence2511 · 10/05/2010 15:01

Matilda is a lovely name but them again I am biased. Our Matilda is a Tilly, but sometimes Tills and Tilda. As she grows up Mattie/Matty may be more age appropriate, but it depends on what she wants.

Alicia is also nice but pronounced as it reads not aleeesha.

I would go for Matilda.
