I love BOTH names but jsut not together...but too tongue twistery IYSWIM...What are your other options???

belgo · 06/05/2010 13:57

They are both similar in that they are both so unusual. They are a bit of a tonguetwister but I don't think that should put you off.

mistlethrush · 06/05/2010 14:00

Are you intending to have a boy - Tristan - next?

Firawla · 06/05/2010 15:09

lol @ granny one and fancy one.. no i think it would be okay

sazlocks · 06/05/2010 15:14

I think they are both lovely names and go well together

proxystix · 06/05/2010 15:23

Both great names - I love, love, love Edith - but I don't really like them together.

oceryo · 06/05/2010 16:33

They are both great names and I think they are fine together

I always wanted an Edith and a Dulcie

SamanthaFox · 06/05/2010 17:49

Edith is a lovely name

I don't really 'get' Isolde, mainly because it sounds like 'I sold a..' or I sold her, really.

It'll be a curse to spell over the phone.

where does it come from, was it something by shakespeare? I can't remember.

SamanthaFox · 06/05/2010 17:51

At least you have it the right way round.

'Hello, what did you name this little one?'

'Edith; Isolde'

'Yes, I can see that she is older. What is the younger one called?'

SamanthaFox · 06/05/2010 17:51

that didn't really work did it.

oh lovely! I love Edith (I don't like all of the old lady names). Isolde is lovely and really matches Edith very well.

Edith and Anna would be odd imo (although both nice names).

Upgrade · 06/05/2010 17:53

Edith and Dulcie together is fabulous

allbie · 06/05/2010 17:57

I like the names but would add Margot.

differentID · 06/05/2010 18:02

Edith is gorgeous.
What do you think of Sylvia/ Dorothy/ Margaret/ Winifred type names?

differentID · 06/05/2010 18:03

sorry- Isolde is very pretty, but most people would have difficulties in knowing how it's pronounced.

Oops, I totally forgot I started this thread. Should really not do so at wine o'clock (I'm in Australia, it was close to midnight).

I love Winifred, differentID, but I don't think I can talk my husband into that. His current favourite is Frances, which I don't mind at all but don't adore. Margot, hmm. Really not sure about Dulcie, I've never thought of that.

Hmm. Hmm hmmm hmm. Thanks for feedback, I shall keep pondering.
