... our baby is due in September and, goodness knows why, my OH started calling the bump Gulliver. Trouble is, I'm doing it too and last night we both admitted that it was starting to sound like an option if it's a boy! Are we mad? What are your thoughts on Gulliver?!

I thought 'no' when I first read it but now I like it- go for it!
My ex called my bump Boris to the point where friends still remember 13 years on. He even said it when we went to register him and the registrar looked at me with quizzical horror until I told her to ignore him! Luke is quite happy with his name but his first teddy got the monniker instead.

We did think of this name for a while and dp wasn't quite convinced. It is a great name though and the book is brilliant. Gary Oldman actually called his son this too - I usually hate celebrity associations but I can think of much worse than him.

Love it. If your family is especially tall or especially short you might want to rethink though. It would be quite a sad irony to have a tiny Gulliver.

I announced this wondeful name to DH and the first thing he said was

'you want to call our child gullible?? are you joking??'

god he drives me BONKERS....

Crazy but I like it too. I know someone called Gully but I think it's because of his surname. Strangely cool - Ive suprised myself.

It's nice that it sort of happened you didnt just sit around searching name books like desperate old me. (Ive used the names I loved already poor DD3 at least she'll never read this)
