Is Saba an appropriate jewish girls name?

My husbands family are Jewish and we like the name 'Saba' for a new baby girl. There is confusing advice about this being acceptable as a girls name within the Jewish community, yet in Hebrew it carries the meaning 'elder man' / 'grandpa'. Does anyone know if it would be just unusual or actually too weird or offensive? Thank you!

What about Ziba? Sounds similar, and means wolf (feminine).

My Grandmother wanted me called Shoshana, but my father went with my Mom's middle name (which is scottish) but both get shortened to Shoshe

I went to primary with a lovely Saba. I think she was muslim rather than Jewish and originally from the middle east somewhere. Sorry, not very helpful but I do think it's a great name.

In Hebrew all sorts of words get used as names - there would be nothing unusual about, say, River Phoenix, or Peaches Geldof. But you do have to choose the word carefully! Which is why Saba would not be appropriate.

Sivan is the 9th month in the Hebrew calendar. I think it's a lovely name.

I thought Saba was a Swahili same, thinking of Saba Douglas-Hamilton, meaning 'seven'.
