Trying to hard, people will think WTF didn't they just go with Stephanie.

confuseddoiordonti · 23/04/2010 23:32

Agree. Is it made up?

Magaly · 23/04/2010 23:37

as TheDiaryofa said... I like Stephanie/Stephie though

padpadpad · 23/04/2010 23:43

I thought Zephanie was a typo of Stephanie (the Z and S are right next to eachother on the keyboard). My guess is that many people will think this for the rest of her life.

Apart from that I really don't like the name anyway.

debaronz · 23/04/2010 23:46

I quite like it but everyone will think you said Stephanie.

I like it, but in the same way that I like fantastical names that I would never ever use (like Apollo or Achilles).

I don't like Stephanie at all though, all the Stephanies I've ever known have been plain and unpleasant.

Thediaryofanobody · 24/04/2010 00:12

Padraig Do you know my DH?! he really wanted to name our son Apollo, obviously I told him no way.

padraig · 24/04/2010 00:14

It's an awesome name to be fair.

Does your DH watch Battlestar Galactica btw?

Thediaryofanobody · 24/04/2010 00:53

Yes we both Do but he was saying it long before then. Think he might have been watching Apollo 11.

LadyBiscuit · 24/04/2010 00:55

Why?

Casmama · 24/04/2010 01:05

Utterly ridiculous sorry.

QueenThistle · 24/04/2010 06:51

Not keen sorry...

jellybeans · 24/04/2010 09:26

I like Zeph for a boy but it's abit too different for girl.

muminthemiddle · 24/04/2010 09:45

Never heard of it before. Not too bad but agree that people might assume her name is Stephanie.

belgo · 24/04/2010 09:46

It might be made up but I really like it.

skihorse · 24/04/2010 09:57

Trying too hard.

bruffin · 24/04/2010 10:04

It's not made up and it is used in "The Trouble with Lichen" by John Wyndham in the 50s which I recently read.

It's got greek origins.

crumpette · 24/04/2010 10:30

I like it

newpup · 24/04/2010 10:48

I really like it, original, quirky and cool!

Great change from all the Lilys/ Poppys and Evies! (no offense to them)

LetThereBeRock · 24/04/2010 10:52

Awful.

ShadeofViolet · 24/04/2010 11:24

Im not keen, plus it reminds me of the squeaky voiced train on Chuggington (Zephie)

AuntieMaggie · 24/04/2010 11:29

ooh i like it!

jemart · 24/04/2010 12:56

What about Zephyr instead? Nickname still works and nobody will mistake it for something else.

kimbles1984 · 24/04/2010 12:59

she will get called Zeph for short, and thats a boys name imo
